3 week old bundle of joy - Newborn Session

Well most of us are back to the daily grind today. I guess the holidays really are over. Oh real life... why are not as nice as vacation?

I think some of you may need a little smile on this wet Monday, so here are a few photos from my recent newborn session to cheer you up. Seriously... babies make everyone feel a little happier. Stay safe out there friends!

Aysha and Jack - Engagement Session ~ Arboretum

Aysha and I had been emailing for what seemed like forever before we actually got to meet. We had originally scheduled a couple session back in September but with a bunch of bad weather (and other random things that kept filling up our schedules) we had to keep postponing. We finally hammered out a new date for December when Jack would be back in town and I got completely giddy when Aysha told me our couple session was now an Engagement session!

When the three of us met at the Arboretum it didn't even matter that there was freezing rain because Aysha and I were so excited to finally be doing some photos together.

I love when it is obvious that a client is easily going to become a friend and I am so excited for Jack and Aysha's wedding! She is going to make such a beautiful bride!

Happy New Year

Welcome to 2014 friends! I feel like I have been MIA forever... but really it has only been about 10 days. I guess time flies when you are having fun.

I had a wonderful Christmas and a spectacular New Years. I spent most of the holidays out in my home town and hung out with family. We had the typical excessive amount of food, nice walks in the country air and plenty of relaxing.

For New Years Eve I was lucky enough to be asked to do some of the photography for Starfish Events Las Vegas New Years Party at the Marriott hotel. It was a huge party and a great time. The top floor was set up as a casino and all the guests were given $100 in Casino money. On another floor there was a dance floor with a DJ and entertainment that included pole dancers (The women pole dancing were amazing... I think I awkwardly stood in the middle of the dance floor staring at them for about 15 minutes at one point. Wowzers they were awesome).

Usually working on New Years Eve means that you don't get to ring in the new year with your handsome husband. I'm lucky enough to say that was not the case for me and this good-looking man was right there to give me a kiss at midnight. Not only does he look handsome in a suit, but he is also a champ at carrying camera equipment when my arm gets soar.

I think 2014 is going to be an awesome year. I have a fun photo announcement coming soon, so keep your eyes on the blog if you want to score yourself a free photo session with your truly.

Christmas Tree Hunt with the Steckly Family

I got to tag along with Brittany and her family while they chose their Christmas tree this year. Not only does this Mom have an awesome name (aka the same name as me), she also has the perfect little family. Her and her hubby John will be in serious trouble when their daughter Riley grows up, she is already melting hearts with her gorgeous big eyes!

Brittany and I have been friends since we were kids. This may seem strange, but there was a point in elementary school when we looked quite similar. I realize these photos are not good evidence of that point, but believe me, when she was a long-haired brunette and I before I hit a big growth spurt, we looked like sisters. Clearly we are no longer twins since Brittany is a blonde bombshell these days.

I hope everyone has a wonderful time this Christmas sitting around their Christmas tree!

Seriously... how cute are these little kiddos!

Once we found THE tree, Riley was fascinated watching John cut it down. She was having so much fun.

I promise I offered to help John drag the tree out, but he was having none of that. Clearly he did not need my help.

The ladies is this family are so gorgeous it blows my mind.

Taylor and John ~ Couple Session

Only 2 more sleeps till Christmas! Anyone else excited? I know I sure am!

Since some of us are burried under ice and snow, I figured a little couple session might help you keep warm today.

Isn't Taylor a total beauty!!

Some wedding catch up

Sometimes I feel like I am always playing catch up. Anyone else ever feel like some weeks they just can't get caught up let alone ahead? Well that is what my last few weeks have been like. Don't get me wrong, I am not really complaining... more just vocalizing facts. The truth is, all my busyness comes from meeting clients, photographing amazing people and editing sessions. All of which are things that make me happy. Although there is a small part of me that wishes I could catch up on Walking Dead (oh my gosh... I am hooked on that show... please no spoilers), I am nothing but happy to be doing something that I am passionate about.

With all that being said, a little while ago I got to 2nd shoot a wedding with one of my fave ladies and photographers, Laura Kelly. Her clients were so wonderful and spending a day with Laura is always an absolute pleasure. I never got the chance to share any of my photos from the wedding, so here are a few of my favorites for your Friday viewing pleasure!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will be finishing some Christmas shopping and doing an engagement session at the Arboretum! I'm very excited, so fingers crossed Environment Canada is lying about the freezing rain!
