Happy New Year

Welcome to 2014 friends! I feel like I have been MIA forever... but really it has only been about 10 days. I guess time flies when you are having fun.

I had a wonderful Christmas and a spectacular New Years. I spent most of the holidays out in my home town and hung out with family. We had the typical excessive amount of food, nice walks in the country air and plenty of relaxing.

For New Years Eve I was lucky enough to be asked to do some of the photography for Starfish Events Las Vegas New Years Party at the Marriott hotel. It was a huge party and a great time. The top floor was set up as a casino and all the guests were given $100 in Casino money. On another floor there was a dance floor with a DJ and entertainment that included pole dancers (The women pole dancing were amazing... I think I awkwardly stood in the middle of the dance floor staring at them for about 15 minutes at one point. Wowzers they were awesome).

Usually working on New Years Eve means that you don't get to ring in the new year with your handsome husband. I'm lucky enough to say that was not the case for me and this good-looking man was right there to give me a kiss at midnight. Not only does he look handsome in a suit, but he is also a champ at carrying camera equipment when my arm gets soar.

I think 2014 is going to be an awesome year. I have a fun photo announcement coming soon, so keep your eyes on the blog if you want to score yourself a free photo session with your truly.

Taylor and John ~ Couple Session

Only 2 more sleeps till Christmas! Anyone else excited? I know I sure am!

Since some of us are burried under ice and snow, I figured a little couple session might help you keep warm today.

Isn't Taylor a total beauty!!

Some wedding catch up

Sometimes I feel like I am always playing catch up. Anyone else ever feel like some weeks they just can't get caught up let alone ahead? Well that is what my last few weeks have been like. Don't get me wrong, I am not really complaining... more just vocalizing facts. The truth is, all my busyness comes from meeting clients, photographing amazing people and editing sessions. All of which are things that make me happy. Although there is a small part of me that wishes I could catch up on Walking Dead (oh my gosh... I am hooked on that show... please no spoilers), I am nothing but happy to be doing something that I am passionate about.

With all that being said, a little while ago I got to 2nd shoot a wedding with one of my fave ladies and photographers, Laura Kelly. Her clients were so wonderful and spending a day with Laura is always an absolute pleasure. I never got the chance to share any of my photos from the wedding, so here are a few of my favorites for your Friday viewing pleasure!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will be finishing some Christmas shopping and doing an engagement session at the Arboretum! I'm very excited, so fingers crossed Environment Canada is lying about the freezing rain!

Sarah and Jon ~ Holiday Mini Session

Sarah and Jon were the first mini session I did the other weekend and let me just say they really got the day started awesome! Sarah is absolutely stunning and I firmly believe she couldn't take a bad photo if she tried! Sarah is actually the amazing creator behind Sarah Walsh Bridal and her bridal jewellery and acessories are as gorgeous as she is!

Her and Jon were a ton of fun to photograph and they are a lovely couple. Although their pooch is not the most friendly fur ball he sure does love Sarah and Jon, and I guess that is what matters. (I don't feel guilty saying this beacsuse even Sarah admits he is not a people-person... or would it be a people-dog? That doesn't sound right either, I'm just going to assume you know what I am trying to get at here).

Side note, the sun in Sarah's blonde hair kind of makes me want to be a blonde. Although anyone who has seen me blonde will know this is an inclination I should not follow.

Only 9 days left till Santa comes! This is exciting, but also makes me very aware of the fact I am not done my Christmas shopping.

Zoë and Cullen ~ Downtown Couple Session

The total knock out beauty in this post is my sister Zoë. My little sister to be precise. She is quite honestly one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She is one of those people that just lights up a room with her personality. She really has no idea how completely stunning she is and that makes her the most kind, down to earth girl. She would literally give you the shirt off her back without even thinking twice. Oh, and this total hottie is also one smart cookie.

Zoë is destined to do amazing things and I think Cullen is the guy to help her do them. He knows exactly how to make her laugh and he is one really hard working man. Not to mention he is pretty darn handsome when he trims his beard (and luckily for us he did just before our photo session!). Few guys would be worthy of my little sister, but I am glad that Cullen managed to sweep her off her feet. They are a really fabulous couple who supports each other through everything and I love them both very much.

Seriously Zoë.... stop making the rest of us look bad.

We had started the photos down by the locks, but when the sun went down we were not ready to call it a night. We grabbed some coffees and moved the fun indoors for some more pictures.

I just love photographing couples and especially couples that love each other this much.
