Family Session with Twins! ~ Arboretum

Laura was one of the first family sessions I booked when I started my business. She literally took a chance on me before I even had my portfolio ready to show anyone. Unfortunately, because of bad weather and scheduling it took us a while to actually connect for her family session - but it was certainly worth the wait.

Their twin daughters were so much fun to photograph. They are just the sweetest and loved smiling for the camera.

When Louis brought out his guitar both the girls instantly broke out into huge smiles. It was so adorable how much they loved their dad playing for them!

Adorable kids seem to be a reoccuring theme in this family. Earlier in the month I got to do a session with Laura's sister-in-law, Emilie, and her family. They were also a ton of fun to work with and their little ones ranked just as high on my Adorable-Kids-Scale.

It Started as a Family Session

We started off doing a family session for the newly expanded McIntyre family, but we ended things off with a mini couple shoot with two of my faves.

But first, a little background info....

Chelsea is one of my dear friends. We met in University while working at a bar downtown. She is pretty tall so I instantly liked her. We then lived together in the shittiest of apartments for a while and loved every minute of it. We affectionately referred to is at the Crack Shack and if we both blow-dried our hair at the same time we would blow almost every fuse in the apartment. (The fuse box was located in the apartment below us, so we were frequently spotted on Kent street in bath robes trying to wake up the guys who lived below).

Chelsea married into the McIntyre Family just over 2 years ago, and although I was iffy about Ken back in Crack Shack days.... he has certainly won me over since then. They are a fabulous couple and Ken supports Chelsea is all of her craziness.

I was honoured to be one of Chelsea`s Bridesmaids in her 2011 wedding and Chelsea was the Matron of Dishonour (and MC) at my wedding.

The McIntyre Family recently acquired it`s first Grand Baby (I`m not sure if acquired is really the best word for welcoming a little bundle of Joy as cute as Logan... but for some reason I like the way it sounds). Either way, an expanding family is a great reason for some family pictures!

The little white cotton ball is Casey and she is dangerously adorable.

The McIntyres were a ton of Fun and boy do they sure all love the new little addition (and really what is not to love!)

Once the family hit the road I just couldn't waste the last little bit of beautiful light. So, Chelsea and Ken humored me with a fun little couple session.

Gah... Chelsea you are so pretty!

Brent had come with me to the session so that we could all do dinner afterwards. He came in very handy as a dog-sitter for little Casey while we did the photos. With the last little bit of light I set Chelsea up with my camera and she snapped this one of me and the Mr.

I just love photo sessions with great Friends!

Jessica and Ronald Engagement Session ~ Arboretum

Jessica and Ronald are getting married in March 2014 and they are such a fabulous couple. The three of us met up at Arboretum a little while ago to do some engagement photos and it was such a good time!

Jessica has been very busy with wedding planning and with less than 6 months till her Big Day it was fun to relax and get some photos to remember this exciting time in their lives together.

Its so obvious that Ronald is just madly in love with his Bride-to-be!

Family Session ~ New Edinburgh

I had a wonderful time shooting a family session the other week in New Edinburgh. The original plan was to do the photos around Rideau Hall, but apparently the Governor General didn't get the memo and he locked the gates on us. Rude.

Luckily for us we live in a city with pretty places all around. So we headed over to a park by the river for some family fun.

This Brother-Sister duo could not have been more fun! If my sister and I had posed for this photo in our teen years I think there would have been a choke hold and a lot less laughing involved. (Thankfully that would no longer be the case).

Mahlet and Aaron Couple Session ~ Rockliffe

Mahlet, Aaron and I had so much fun doing a photo shoot at the Rockliffe Flying Club last week. They are such wonderful people and make a perfect couple. Mahlet and I connected through a mutual friend and it was her awesome idea to do the shoot at the flying club. Aaron is one of the co-founders of Starfish Events here in Ottawa and attended flight school in an earlier life (the location of the shoot was actually a surprise for Aaron).

We had such perfect weather and Mahlet and Aaron were so much fun to work with. Mahlet is absolutely beautiful and Aaron is pretty handsome himself. They really do make one stunning couple.

Mahlet actually designs purses and this is one of her beautiful designs. You absolutely have to check them out at Me.Tu Style.

When we finished up at the Flying Club we headed down along the river for a few more photos. We managed to get one photo at the dock of a yacht club before we got kicked off. oopsie.
