Some wedding catch up

Sometimes I feel like I am always playing catch up. Anyone else ever feel like some weeks they just can't get caught up let alone ahead? Well that is what my last few weeks have been like. Don't get me wrong, I am not really complaining... more just vocalizing facts. The truth is, all my busyness comes from meeting clients, photographing amazing people and editing sessions. All of which are things that make me happy. Although there is a small part of me that wishes I could catch up on Walking Dead (oh my gosh... I am hooked on that show... please no spoilers), I am nothing but happy to be doing something that I am passionate about.

With all that being said, a little while ago I got to 2nd shoot a wedding with one of my fave ladies and photographers, Laura Kelly. Her clients were so wonderful and spending a day with Laura is always an absolute pleasure. I never got the chance to share any of my photos from the wedding, so here are a few of my favorites for your Friday viewing pleasure!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will be finishing some Christmas shopping and doing an engagement session at the Arboretum! I'm very excited, so fingers crossed Environment Canada is lying about the freezing rain!

Jess and Paul ~ Holiday Couple Session

When you first meet Jess and Paul you kind of wonder how they ever got together. They are the couple that seems so different and yet are so perfect for each other. Paul makes me think of a bull in a china shop at times (but like a big giggly bull, not a mean bull). Jess on the other hand is so soft and smooth in the way she moves and talks - she just makes you feel at ease. Together they are nothing short of awesome. I consider myself a funny person, but being with Paul and Jess makes me feel like a need to loosen up a little. They just have so much fun in life together.

I first met Jess in grade 9 biology class in our small town. She had orange and pink hair and was clearly cooler than me. We have been friends since and even though she moved away while we were still in high school we never lost touch. Her and Paul got married last September and nothing seems to stop these two from loving each other and loving life. They really are an inspiration.

Jess no longer has orange and pink hair, but she is still completely stunning (and probably STILL cooler than me)

Paul may be able to grow a Grizzly Adams beard... but he is really just a giant kid at heart.

Sarah and Jon ~ Holiday Mini Session

Sarah and Jon were the first mini session I did the other weekend and let me just say they really got the day started awesome! Sarah is absolutely stunning and I firmly believe she couldn't take a bad photo if she tried! Sarah is actually the amazing creator behind Sarah Walsh Bridal and her bridal jewellery and acessories are as gorgeous as she is!

Her and Jon were a ton of fun to photograph and they are a lovely couple. Although their pooch is not the most friendly fur ball he sure does love Sarah and Jon, and I guess that is what matters. (I don't feel guilty saying this beacsuse even Sarah admits he is not a people-person... or would it be a people-dog? That doesn't sound right either, I'm just going to assume you know what I am trying to get at here).

Side note, the sun in Sarah's blonde hair kind of makes me want to be a blonde. Although anyone who has seen me blonde will know this is an inclination I should not follow.

Only 9 days left till Santa comes! This is exciting, but also makes me very aware of the fact I am not done my Christmas shopping.

Kristie and Brad ~ Holiday Mini Session

Kristie and Brad.... hmmmm... where to even start with these two. They really are just as sweet as they look. They just have so much fun with everything that they do together - it is hard not to have fun with them!

Kristie is absolutely gorgeous and just has the kindest soul. She is one of those people you want to make a friendship bracelet for as soon as you meet.

They were the last couple I had in the morning for our Holiday Mini Sessions. After their sessions I got to take a little lunch break. The Mr and I had been trying to move a piece of furniture down to basement, but I was just getting over a problem with my neck and was worried about lifting. I have to admit that I asked if Brad would mind giving us a hand moving it once we wrapped up their session and he instantly agreed! They really are the sweetest! They came for a photo shoot and were suckered into some manual labour... but it didn't bother them in the least! I owe you both some heavy lifting... let me know when you want collect!

Ashlee and Jamie ~ Mini Holiday Session

Ashlee and Jamie were one of my super generous couples from this past weekend's Mini Sessions for Toy Mountain. They are such a fabulous couple and an absolute pleasure to photograph!

If you are ever in the market for buying or selling a home, you should definitely get in touch with Ashlee. She is such a wonderful woman and I honestly cannot recommend her enough! You can check out her website here.

Jamie.... you are one very luck man! *wink*

A Weekend full of pictures!

Well this was a busy weekend... and I am about to tell you why.

For starters, Saturday was my Holiday Couple Mini Sessions and it was so much fun. It really was a perfect day for them! We had beautiful sun and it wasn't even too cold out (although I did throw some toe-warmers in my boots for the afternoon).

Although I felt lucky for the great weather, I felt even more lucky for the great couples! Honestly, as each new pair arrived I was a little blown away with how nice (and totally good looking) they were! Seriously. Who books an entire day full of photo sessions and gets nothing by fabulously attractive couples? Aparentley this girl!

The proof will be showing up on the blog soon, but here is just a sneak peak of one of these fabulous couples I'm speaking of!

Since I have explained how fabulous all the couples were, I absolutely cannot continue this post without saying how absolutely generous they all were as well. We collected so many toys for Toy Mountain!! (In case you forgot, the fee for the mini sessions was paid in part by a donation for Toy Mountain). When all was said and done I was shocked at the amount of toys I had piled on my dining room table! Tis the season for giving and these wonderful couples sure did just that!

After a day of awesome mini sessions what is a better way to spend the evening than with a Ladies Christmas Party! This was my 2nd Annual party and we had a great time! We do a present exchange and play a number of holiday themed games. Last year there was a scavenger hunt full of Christmas riddles and rhymes. This year we had a pictionary/charades combo followed by some trivia. Here were some of the trivia questions so you can test your holiday knowledge (You can find the answers at the bottom of the post - but no cheating!)

1. Which Country created Eggnog?
2. Name the Movie this is from: "It's a one year membership to the Jelly of the Month Club."
3. According to the song, 'Frosty the Snowman' what kind of soul does Frosty have?
4. Is the average number of lights on a Christmas tree 200 or 350?
5. What does ‘Advent’ mean?
6. St. Nick’s nose is often compared to what fruit?

7. Name the Movie this is from: "Bless this highly nutritious microwavable macaroni and cheese dinner and the people who sold it on sale. Amen."

On Sunday I had the pleasure of tagging along with a family while they chose and cut down their Christmas Tree! I can't wait to go through all the fun pictures, but in the meantime I will leave you with just a little peak from the beginning of the search!

And since every great weekend should include a little family time.... I even got to see my Papa Bear and play with his new kitten! Internet, I am pleased to introduce you to Smackwater Jack and my Daddy-O.

They are both pretty cute fellas if you ask me.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Don't forget to check your trivia answers before you get back to your Monday!

1. England
2. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
3. A Jolly Happy Soul
4. 350 Lights
5. Coming
6. A Cherry

7. Home Alone

Heather & Family ~ Parliament Hill

Parliament Hill seemed like a perfect location for this family session, but it turns out we planned it on the worst Saturday EVER.... the day of the Santa Clause Parade. Usually I am all on board for a good old parade, but that is not the case when I need to get across it to meet a lovely family. Although we were all about 30 minutes late (because apparently all of downtown comes to a halt when Santa is in town) we had a great time running around Parliament Hill for this awesome family session.

Isn't Heather gorgeous! I secretly want her hair (although now that I have posted that on the internet I guess it is no longer a secret).

I had to run in front of the Grinch float to get back to where I parked my car. But totally worth it to hang with this fabulous family.
